The Food & Nutrition department is widely used for extra-curricular activities both during the week and at weekends.
Cookery Clubs are held for Lower School and Middle School girls on two evenings per week, allowing the girls to enjoy some extra time in the kitchen. Each session is practical with a wide range of items being made to incorporate healthy snacks, use of seasonal ingredients, extension skills, sweet treats and dishes that reflect the time of year (Christmas, Easter etc). All items made are in addition to those made in curriculum time.
Saturday morning workshops are mainly for boarders but day girls are welcome to join in, as space permits.
Competitions such as Ready Steady Cook, Mayfield Bake Off and Masterchef are exciting Inter House events.
The kitchen is widely used by girls and staff who want to raise funds for Charity, including cake sales, Christmas Fair items and Around the World cookery evenings for staff.
