The School currently has four ICT suites, including multi-touch multi-technology in the new Sixth Form Centre which opened in September 2013. In addition, the Modern Foreign Languages Department has a dedicated digital resource room containing 20 PCs loaded with the latest language software, and the Maths Department is also well-resourced with ICT.
Each boarding house has a bank of PCs for prep/homework and communicating with families. The whole School is covered by a wireless broadband internet connection, to allow those students who bring laptops and tablets to School to access the servers and, in a managed fashion, the World Wide Web.
The provision of ICT within School is constantly reviewed by the Deputy Head Academic, Head of Curricular IT and the Head of IT Services, to ensure that the students are well-served by the resources that are available to them. For example the 'Space', the School’s latest ICT suite to open within Main School, is furnished with thin- and zero-client PCs running off virtualised servers.
The Sixth Form Centre has its own ICT suite, which is focused on multi-user touch-sensitive technology and mobile digital devices. This enables direct digital collaboration between teachers and up to eight students at a time and improved sharing of digital content.
