Leeds House

Opened in 2005, Leeds House is named after the Duchess of Leeds who generously donated the Old Palace to the Society of the Holy Child Jesus to establish a school at Mayfield. Located adjacent to Lower School, Leeds is home to the Year 7 and 8 boarders, who sleep in rooms of two to four girls. The house has a cosy common room, IT suite and kitchen areas.

Leeds is a small and very friendly house for the boarders in Years 7 and 8. It is a happy, comfortable place where everyone knows and looks out for each other.

It’s a busy house: a place where we live, work, eat, rest and play together and enjoy each other’s company.

Each new girl has a ‘guardian angel’ to help her settle in.  Sixth Form prefects visit Leeds in the evenings and are a great source of information and help.

In Leeds House we care for each other and take responsibility for our actions, so we don’t need many rules.
