Schola Cantorum sing at Southwark Cathedral
Schola continued their successful series of visits to cathedrals, both in Europe and Great Britain, with a visit to Southwark Cathedral to sing Evensong on St Patrick’s Day last week.
The music was by Sir Edward Burstow, Magnificat and Nunc Dimitis, Martin How, Day by Day and Malcolm Archer, The Responses. The congregation joined with Schola in singing the famous Irish Hymn to the tune of St Patrick’s Breastplate.
It was pleasing that we have been asked back for a third time within 12 months. There are future plans for a tour of northern cathedrals and hopefully, with the Orchestra, a European tour next Easter.
