Mayfield is a school built on the principles of trust, respect and love for each member of the community.
We nurture and celebrate each individual, but also engender in our girls an awareness and appreciation of the needs and gifts of others. Good interaction between staff and pupils results from supportive relationships, and we are justly proud of our pastoral care.
All staff at Mayfield have a pastoral responsibility. Heads of School, Housemistresses, Matrons and Tutors work with academic staff, the Chaplaincy and Health Centre, supported by the domestic and administrative team, to guarantee that each member of the community is cared for on a personal level. Importantly, staff also work closely with parents to ensure that their daughters are happy and thriving. The concern the girls show for each other and those who care for them is testament to the community we have built here.
