Mayfield's Lay Chaplain plays an important role in the life of the School.
I am very fortunate to have opportunities to spend time with our students formally in liturgies, extra-curricular activities and prayer times as well as informally around the school in the boarding houses and in the Chaplaincy.
My role is very diverse and evolves according to the needs of the community at the time. Having spent seven years at Mayfield, and seventeen years working with young people in a variety of settings, I am experienced in supporting adolescents in their faith and personal growth.
Prior to my time at Mayfield I worked for many years with the Salesian Sisters as Volunteer Manager at Brettargh Holt Retreat Centre and as Director of VIDES UK. I gained an MA in Theology and Religious Studies, and Film and Television studies from the University of Glasgow. I also studied for two years in Rome attending a number of courses in Theology and Pedagogy.
Since arriving at Mayfield I have completed a Certificate in Counselling Skills and Pastoral Care.
