FULL-TIME TEACHER OF DRAMA
Permanent contract from September 2018

We are looking for a dynamic and inspirational Drama graduate with experience of academic and extra-curricular Drama, to work alongside and support the Head of Department at this exciting time in the School’s development.  Mayfield has an excellent reputation for Creativity and Performing Arts: Drama is a popular and successful subject throughout the School, with girls achieving outstanding GCSE and A Level results. 

Drama has traditionally been an important subject in the School. The ideal candidate will be an NQT or someone looking for their first move, who is able to encourage and nurture creativity in every student.  Experience of professional theatre and performance would be an advantage, as would some technical expertise, such as costume, lighting and stage management.  The successful candidate will play a key role in the provision of extra-curricular Drama, including contributing to Drama in a boarding environment and assisting with a variety of school productions.

Maternity Cover Groom Required

Fixed Term Contract

Mayfield is seeking a full time Groom for a busy mixed yard of event/show jumpers. The successful candidate must be able to ride and handle horses with confidence and have experience of a similar role.  A high standard of care and turnout is required; mucking out, clipping, tacking, washing and exercising horses.  This is a busy, active and physical role in the stables.  A 1 year contract post for 5 days a week (2 days off) to cover maternity leave which may lead to a permanent role.  The starting salary is £8.33 per hour.

Mayfield is a Catholic independent boarding and day School for 375 girls aged 11-18 years, set in 75 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside, less than 50 miles from London, 40 minutes from Gatwick and 15 minutes from the charming historic town of Tunbridge Wells.  Our latest ISI inspection report states that the quality of education at Mayfield is "outstanding" and was described by Country Life magazine as "one of the finest schools in the land."  

We are a large, established yard including indoor and outdoor schools,  excellent stabling, and other facilities to enable the preparation for high standard competition horses.
