Visiting Music Tutor – Brass

We are seeking to appoint a Visiting Music Tutor (VMT) in Brass to work at Mayfield School for a start in September 2018.  Mayfield has a long and successful history of individual music tuition, and the new tutor will be contributing to this tradition.

The successful candidate will be capable of tutoring girls in Trumpet and Trombone, up to Grade 8 and beyond in at least one of these, and should be familiar with ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall examinations.

Mayfield is a Catholic independent boarding and day School for 375 girls aged 11-18 years, set in 75 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside, less than 50 miles from London, 40 minutes from Gatwick and 15 minutes from the charming historic town of Tunbridge Wells. Our latest ISI inspection report states that the quality of education at Mayfield is "outstanding" and was described by Country Life magazine as "one of the finest schools in the land."

LEARNING SUPPORT HEAD OF DEPARTMENT
REQUIRED FOR SEPTEMBER 2018

Mayfield is seeking an experienced Head of Learning Support to lead this well-respected Department, to work throughout the School focusing on specific learning support for girls of all abilities from Year 7 to Oxbridge. The successful candidate should be a well-qualified graduate, ideally able to carry out Assessment for Access Arrangements.

Higher Level Learning Support Assistant
Part-time: approx. 12-13 hours per week
To commence: September 2018

Mayfield is seeking to appoint a Higher Level Learning Support Assistant to assist with a Year 12 pupil with dyslexia. The successful candidate will work in partnership with the Head of Learning Support and teachers, to ensure that the pupil accesses the information required to achieve her full potential academically and is fully included in all aspects of School life.  The ability to help increase her familiarity with interactive technology would also be advantageous.

PART-TIME TEACHER OF MUSIC
Required for September 2018

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional and inspirational Teacher of Music who will continue to build on the strong tradition and reputation of Music at Mayfield. 

Music plays an important part in the life of the School. In addition to academic music, almost half of our girls receive instrumental tuition or are involved in School music. Our Schola Cantorum is highly renowned and has recently performed at Westminster Abbey and Cathedral, and St Paul’s Cathedral. The School hosts the biennial Mayfield Festival and the Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists Competition.  We are proud of the number of girls who go on to study or be involved in music at university. 

As well as being a personable, dynamic and accomplished musician, the successful candidate will have experience teaching across KS3, KS4 and KS5, and will be enthusiastic about helping develop the extra-curricular provision of the Department. This position would suit an NQT, but applications are welcome from more experienced teachers.
