Emma Bell - Teacher of English

Emma grew up on the South Wales coast just round the bay from Barry Island.  She studied at UWC Atlantic College gaining International Baccalaureate Highers in English Literature, Music, and History, before heading off to Southampton University for a degree in English Literature.

A short foray then followed in advertising in Bristol before she began her teacher training. She has spent most of her professional career working in Buckinghamshire in the grammar and independent sector as an English teacher, pastoral leader and Head of School, but has spent the last few years enjoying a more nomadic life as a private tutor.

She is looking forward to putting down some roots again and being part of school community as our new Teacher of English. She has two children who are now young adults and a black cat named after the American writer, Hunter S Thompson. Her ideal day involves walking, not too much sunshine, finding a bargain in a charity shop, and an ice-cream before a dip in the ocean.
