MINIBUS DRIVER and Ad Hoc Drivers required

Hours - Part-time, Monday to Friday, morning and evening, term-time +
Pay rate - £12.06 per hour whilst driving; £9.65 per hour waiting time

We are seeking a friendly, reliable and motivated Minibus Driver to join our existing team who provide safe and secure transport to students. 

The successful candidate will have good communication skills, both written and verbal, a sound knowledge of the local area, be sensible and resourceful, and have a positive and flexible working attitude. Candidates must have excellent customer service skills as they will be representing the School at all times.  A clean driving licence is essential and priority will be given to anyone with a Driver Qualification Card.  Please note that drivers must be over 25 years’ of age to comply with our insurance requirements. 

We are currently looking for a driver to take on a regular run before and after school. In addition to these regular hours, drivers have the opportunity to undertake ad hoc journeys e.g. airport runs or School outings, if they wish. We are also looking for a driver to take on an evening only run.  We would also welcome applications from drivers interested in ad hoc work only.

Catering Storeman
37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our team in the Kitchen providing high quality nutritious food to our School community.

Our Catering Storeman will take responsibility for providing a porterage, cleaning and store room service to our Catering Team. They also support the kitchen with the delivery of prepared food and other items across the School.

Applicants will ideally have previous experience of working in a commercial kitchen although full training will be provided. They will be used to working in a team and will have at least basic numeracy and literacy skills.  A basic food hygiene certificate would be an advantage but is not essential.  

The successful applicant will be paid £9.50 per hour and will receive free meals whilst on duty. Uniform and footwear will be provided by the School.

Qualified Grounds Person
£22,000 to £25,000 per annum

Mayfield School is looking for an experienced and motivated person to join our existing Grounds team at the School.

The successful applicant will support the maintenance and preparation of the main sports pitches and playing surfaces across the School.  They will work with colleagues to ensure that gardens and other areas of our 75 acre site are maintained to the highest standards.  This will include some woodland work and the maintenance of boundaries and fences.

Applicants will have previous grounds experience ideally in a School or similar large establishment. Candidates will have a minimum of NVQ level 2 in Horticulture or IOG qualifications in Sports Turf Maintenance are essential.  Chainsaw and PA1/PA6 qualifications are preferred, as would experience of driving of tractors, mowing machines and other grounds maintenance equipment, but are not essential as full training will be provided.

The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week with some flexibility required as there may be the need for some early morning or weekend working.  The role attracts a salary in the range of £22,000 to £24,000 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.

Qualified Lifeguard

 Mayfield School, a Catholic Independent Boarding and Day School for girls, is seeking a part-time qualified Lifeguard to ensure high standards of safety for pool users.

The successful candidate will be required to work Tuesdays and Fridays 16.15 to 18.15 (4 hours per week) and one Saturday per half term working 2 hours per day, term time only.  The salary is £8.50 per hour including accrued holiday pay.

Candidates should have achieved and maintained the appropriate level of training, good communication skills and be able to remain calm under pressure. Candidates must be prepared to commit to the on-going training necessary to maintain their lifeguarding qualification.
