Boarding Housemistress
Residential post required for September 2022

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate teacher with a proven track record in boarding and pastoral care, to join our team as Housemistress in our sixth form Boarding House.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the care and well-being of our boarders, manage the Boarding House staff and be expected to be involved in all aspects of Mayfield life, including teaching a reduced academic timetable within the sixth form. Most curriculum subjects will be considered. Candidates must have a commitment to the Catholic ethos of the School and to the education of girls.

Graduate Assistant –
Teaching and Boarding
Starting September 2022

A residential post for the 2022/2023 academic year incorporating both pastoral and academic responsibilities, this would suit someone seeking teaching experience, and who is interested in being fully involved in the life of a boarding school.

It would include involvement in the school’s academic provision and extracurricular activities, as well as working in the school’s boarding community to provide care and support for the girls living in the school.

Candidates will have a flexible, friendly approach and be able to act as a positive role model to students at the School. This role is ideally suited to Graduates who are considering a career in teaching.

Salary £15,000 per annum. Accommodation and meals provided. The role is offered on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.

AFTERNOON MINIBUS DRIVER
Hours - Part-time, Monday to Friday, morning and afternoons (4 hours per day)

Drivers are also paid for a further 15 minutes of waiting time per day and for their attendance at weekly Drivers’ Meetings
Pay rate - £12.06 per hour whilst driving; £9.65 per hour waiting time

We are seeking a friendly, reliable and motivated Minibus Driver to join our existing team who provide safe and secure transport to students. 

The successful candidate will have good communication skills, both written and verbal, a sound knowledge of the local area, be sensible and resourceful, and have a positive and flexible working attitude. Candidates must have excellent customer service skills as they will be representing the School at all times.  A clean driving licence is essential and priority will be given to anyone with a Driver Qualification Card.  Please note that drivers must be over 25 years’ of age to comply with our insurance requirements. 

We are currently looking for a driver to take on a regular run before and after school. In addition to these regular hours, drivers have the opportunity to undertake ad hoc journeys e.g. airport runs or School outings, if they wish. We are also looking for a driver to take on an evening only run.  We would also welcome applications from drivers interested in ad hoc work only.

Housekeeping Assistants - £9.50 / £9.85 per hour

Mayfield School are looking for enthusiastic and flexible individuals to join our friendly, hardworking and passionate team of Housekeeping staff. Our team are an integral part of the School community ensuing that we can provide the very best environment for our students to both study and live in. 

You don’t need previous experience to join our team – what’s important to us is what you bring as a person. If you have excellent communication skills, are equally happy working on your own as in a team, have a good eye for detail and are as committed to providing a high level of service as we are, this could be the job for you. Full training will be provided for all new members of the team.

We have a wide variety of hours available:

  • Monday to Friday 06:00 to 11:00
  • Monday to Friday 18:00 to 21:00 (term time only and full time roles are available).

Full-time (37.5 hours per week) and weekend hours (3 hours on Saturday and Sunday) may also be available.

Hours Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 17:00 are paid at £9.50 per hour whilst all other hours are paid at £9.85 per hour. Practical, modern work wear is also provided.

Our Support Staff know that their contribution to the School is vital to its overall success and in ensuring that our students achieve their educational goals.

Maintenance technician 
£24,000 per annum

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our existing team to help ensure that the School is maintained to our high standards.

Candidates will be multi-skilled across the full range of maintenance operations but will have a basis towards plumbing. Working knowledge and experience of heating and hot/cold water systems will be required. Ideally candidates will have experience of swimming pool plant knowledge but full training is available for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills with a good level of knowledge of health and safety.

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) Monday to Friday with a requirement to join the weekend and out of hours’ emergency on-call rota. Closing date for applications: 09:00 on 10 January 2022 although the School reserves the right to appoint prior to this date.
