Qualified Grounds Person
£23,000 to £26,000
per annum

Mayfield School is looking for an experienced and motivated person to join our existing grounds team at the School.

The successful applicant will support the maintenance and preparation of the main sports pitches and playing surfaces across the School. They will work with colleagues to ensure that gardens and other areas of our 75-acre site are maintained to the highest standards. This will include some woodland work and the maintenance of boundaries and fences.

Applicants will have previous grounds experience ideally in a School or similar large establishment. Candidates will have a minimum of NVQ level 2 in Horticulture or IOG qualifications in Sports Turf Maintenance are essential.  Chainsaw and PA1/PA6 qualifications are preferred, as would experience of driving of tractors, mowing machines and other grounds maintenance equipment, but are not essential as full training will be provided.

The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week with some flexibility required as there may be the need for some early morning and occasional weekend working.

Part-time Seamstress / Seamster (£10 per hr)

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking individual to join the School to provide a label sewing and uniform alteration service to parents. 

Ideally the work will be carried out from home, but the School can provide equipment and facilities if required. The School will provide all materials.

Ideally you will have previous experience or be passionate about sewing. You will be local and will have your own transport to allow you to pick up and deliver uniform to the School.  You will have high standards and be motivated to work on your own initiative. You will be available all year but should be aware that Summer is the School’s busiest time for uniform.

Minibus Drivers for August 2022

Hours - Part-time, Monday to Friday (4 hours per day)
Drivers are also paid for a further 30 minutes of waiting time per day and for their attendance at weekly Drivers’ Meetings.

Pay rate - £12.54 per hour whilst driving; £10.04 per hour waiting time

We are seeking friendly, reliable and motivated Minibus Drivers to join our existing team who provide safe and secure transport to students.

The successful candidates will have good communication skills, both written and verbal, sound knowledge of the local area, be sensible and resourceful, and have a positive and flexible working attitude. Candidates must have excellent customer service skills as they will be representing the School at all times. A clean driving licence is essential and priority will be given to anyone with a Driver Qualification Card. Please note that drivers must be over 25 years’ of age to comply with our insurance requirements.

We are currently looking for drivers to take on regular runs before and after school due to an expansion of our Minibus Service. In addition to these regular hours, drivers have the opportunity to undertake ad hoc journeys e.g. airport runs or School outings, if they wish. Kitchen and Service Assistant
£20,683 per annum

Mayfield School are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our friendly, hardworking and creative Catering Team. Our Catering team are an integral part of the School community ensuring that our students and staff have a first class dining experience at every meal.

You don’t need previous experience to join our team although it helps - what’s important to us is what you bring as a person. If you are used to working to a high standard of hygiene, have excellent communication skills, enjoy working in a team and are as committed to providing a high level of service as we are, this could be the job for you. Full training will be provided along with practical, modern work wear.

Currently we’re looking for a Kitchen and Service Assistant working full-time (40 hours per week). Hours are predominantly Monday to Friday (07:00 to 15:30 with 30 minutes unpaid break) but there may be a requirement to work some weekends and evenings during term-time.

Housekeeping Assistants - £9.90/£10.25 per hour

Our team are an integral part of the School community ensuring that we can provide the very best environment for our students to both study and live in.

We have the following hours available:
Monday to Friday 07:00 - 12:00
Monday to Friday 08:30 – 13:30

Hours worked Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 17:00 are paid at £9.90 per hour whilst all other hours are paid at £10.25 per hour.
