The Mayfield Foundation

Message from the Headmistress
It is a real pleasure to welcome our Old Cornelians and Friends to the Mayfield Foundation community. Your continued connection to Mayfield is something we value deeply: it reflects the enduring friendships, spirit and values that shape a Mayfield education and stay with our pupils long after they leave us. Whether you left recently or many years ago, you remain a cherished part of our story, and it is always a joy to celebrate your achievements and your ongoing connection with the life of the school.
I always enjoy hearing where life has taken you since your time at Mayfield, and I warmly encourage you to stay in touch - whether by updating your details on the Mayfield Foundation website, sharing your news, or joining us at events.
I would also like to personally invite you to support our Transformational Bursary Campaign. I feel deeply committed to ensuring that future generations of girls can benefit from the same life‑changing opportunities that define a Mayfield education.
Your support plays a vital role in extending opportunity, strengthening our community and enabling more young women to flourish, now and for years to come.
Our school motto, Actions not words, continues to resonate through all that we do, and in the words of our founder, “I have begun the work; others will bring it to perfection.”
Deborah Bligh
Headmistress
The Mayfield Foundation exists to support both present and future generations of pupils - expanding opportunity through transformational bursaries, scholarships and investment in the environments in which girls learn and thrive.
Through the generosity of our community of Old Cornelians, parents and supporters, we are able to provide financial support to talented young women who would not otherwise have access to a Mayfield education, while also strengthening and sustaining the spaces in which teaching and learning take place. In doing so, we continue a long-standing commitment to widening access and securing Mayfield’s future for generations to come.
Transformational bursaries open the door to a life-changing education, enabling young people with exceptional potential to realise their ambitions and flourish - regardless of financial background.
Whether you are an Old Cornelian, a current or former parent, or a former member of staff, you are an important part of this shared endeavour. We warmly invite you to remain connected to the Foundation community and to join us at future events.
For over a century, Mayfield alumnae have proudly celebrated their identity as Old Cornelians, forming lifelong friendships and supporting current pupils as mentors, speakers and guides. Today, our global alumnae network continues to connect and inspire, bringing our community together through reunions, events and shared experiences, both at Mayfield and beyond.
