Scholarship and Bursaries

Mayfield scholarships are awarded in open competition in recognition of outstanding potential in academic or other specific areas of School life.  They also allow the School to clearly identify those pupils who, because of their particular talents, should be extended and stretched to achieve their full potential.

Assessments are required in order to apply for any of the Gifted and Talented Scholarships that are available. These include:

  • Art
  • Dance
  • Drama
  • Music
  • Sports
  • Equestrian

Please note, those candidates for Year 9 who have elected to take the 13+ Common Entrance Examination rather than the Mayfield Entrance Assessments are eligible to apply for a Gifted & Talented Scholarship.

To commemorate the Holy Door in the Year of Mercy, Mayfield School has introduced a Jubilee Scholarship.  In common with other scholarships, this is merit-based, with the recipient earning the scholarship on the basis of demonstrable academic potential.  It is awarded annually to a practising Catholic girl from a Primary School in the Arundel and Brighton Diocese.  Candidates are expected to support their application with a recommendation from their Priest and Headteacher, and the Diocesan Education Officer will form part of the scholarship interview programme.  The recipient of the Award will receive a 20% discount on the school fees and may supplement this with a Means Tested Bursary of up to 100% for a day or boarding place.
