Visit the School
If you are interested in sending your daughter to Mayfield we would encourage you to attend one of our events we hold throughout the year.
Open Mornings at Mayfield are held on normal teaching days and are designed to be an honest and transparent reflection of school life. As such, you can experience a typical Mayfield day – packed with achievement, celebration, purpose and warmth. We would encourage you to visit more than once, as there are many sides to Mayfield. Academic life is, of course, at the heart of everything, but beyond the classroom lies a wealth of opportunities.
We know that not everyone is able to attend an Open Morning so please do not worry as we are happy to arrange an individual visit too.
A personal visit also gives you the opportunity to speak in depth with key members of staff at a time that is convenient for you and your family. We try to accommodate as many families as possible during the week but please give us as much notice as you can so we can guarantee your chosen date. We tailor the tour to suit you but visits comprise of a pupil tour of Mayfield, a visit to a boarding house if appropriate, a meeting with our Headmistress, Antonia Beary, and the opportunity to speak with other key members of Staff whether that be the Gifted and Talented Coordinators, Head of Learning Support, Head of Sixth Form, Director of Riding or Music or anyone else who you feel can provide insight into whether Mayfield will be the right school for your daughter. At the end there will be time for questions with our, Registrar.
We encourage families to visit during term time in order to see Mayfield pupils and staff in a normal school day. However we know that not everyone is able to arrange an individual visit so we would be happy for you to talk directly with a member of staff or current parent.
For more information please contact our Registrar, Shirley Coppard, on +44 (0)1435 874642 or email email@example.com.
There are opportunities for your daughter to spend time at Mayfield in a more relaxed way by attending our Saturday Workshops which are held twice a year. Girls are able to choose from a selection of workshops offering activities such as making a bag in our Textiles Studio, mastering the profiterole with Food and Nutrition and refining sporting skills. Your daughter will spend time in the School becoming more familiar with her surroundings and getting to know some of our girls who will be there to help.
Big Night In
The 'Big Night In' is open to any girl from Year 5 upwards interested in, or curious about, life in a boarding school. They are invited to come and enjoy a fun sleepover with our current boarders in either Leeds or Connelly House. The event is held twice a year usually in conjunction with the Saturday Workshops.
To allow your daughter to gain a true understanding of life at Mayfield we will happily arrange a taster day where she will have an opportunity to spend the day with her current year group and, where appropriate, stay overnight in the boarding house.
