Eva Garcia-Claramonte - Teacher of Biology

Eva was born in the Basque region of Spain but has lived and worked in the UK since she was ten years old. She went to secondary school in Brecon (where she learnt English), and has a joint honours in Biology and Chemistry from St Mary’s College, University of Surrey, and a PGCE in Secondary Integrated Sciences from Goldsmith’s College, University of London.

Joining us from St Gregory’s Catholic School in Tunbridge Wells where she taught all three sciences up to GCSE, Eva has previously taught Biology A Level, PE A Level and coached a variety of sports.

Eva is Mayfield’s new Teacher of Biology and Year 10 Tutor, and has the advantage of having taught at Mayfield before. She is looking forward to being part of Mayfield’s thriving community, getting to know her pupils and contributing to life at the School.

Married to Sean, and Mum to daughter Chloe and tortoise Barry, Eva enjoys watching and taking part in team sports. She also like to travel and is looking forward to being able to resume this once the pandemic allows. Her first trip will be back to Spain to catch up with family and friends in Vitoria – Gasteiz.
